Traditional dance is woven into the rich tapestry of Mexican cultural history, and no one dance troupe represents that better than the Ballet Folklórico de México. Mariachis, son jarochos, and flouncing, hand crafted skirts rippling through the air are just a few of the things you can witness when you catch this lively act on Friday, September 28th!
Globally significant Ballet Folklórico of Mexico returns to join the celebration of San Antonio’s Tricentennial. The Ballet Folklórico brings together so many crucial components of Mexican culture that it makes for an unmissable experience, and one that evokes a not unwarranted level of pride.
Dancer, choreographer and historian Amalia Hernández’s 76-member Ballet Folklórico gloriously and authentically brings to life the stirring music, swirling dance and beautiful costumes of Mexico, from primitive pre-Colombian rites to the sweeping choreography of the Regency, Colonial, Revolutionary and Modern eras.
This special San Antonio 300 presentation of Ballet Folklorico of Mexico is made possible in part by generous grant from the 300 TriArt grant program.
If you’d like to experience an unmistakably unique cultural event, don’t miss Ballet Folklórico de México! Individual and group tickets are available for purchase online. Seating assignments are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis depending on the time of ticket purchase.
