Love books? Want to help spread the love of reading? If so, come to Central Library on Saturday, April 6th for the 7th Annual San Antonio Book Festival! With a full day of activities, speaking engagements, and much more, the Book Festival is ideal for families and individuals alike who want to mingle with other bibliophiles.
The San Antonio Book Festival celebrates national and local authors and their contributions to the culture of literacy, ideas, and imagination. This year’s lineup includes nationally renowned authors such as Rick Bragg, Tayari Jones, Ron Chernow, Andre Dubus III, Susan Page, Meg Medina, Douglas Brinkley, Jose Antonio Vargas, Laurie Halse Anderson, and more.
The festival is a free, day-long event that brings books to life through author presentations, innovative panel discussions, recipe demonstrations, and book sales and signings. Also included in this fun day of literary entertainment are family activities, such as children’s theater performances, a technology area, interactive play and art stations, and a selection of the city’s famous food trucks.
San Antonio Book Festival is the signature program of the San Antonio Public Library Foundation. The Festival was first presented in April 2013 with the Texas Book Festival, the Central Library, and the Southwest School of Art as founding partners. The event currently features over 90 national, regional, local and emerging authors and welcomes more than 18,000 visitors.
Join friends and neighbors at the San Antonio Book Festival on Saturday! Admission is free. All are welcome to attend.
